16S rRNA is encoded by 7 loci in E. coli K-12. Jump to:
Yokoyama and Suzuki[1] used transposon mutagenesis to examine the tolerance of rRNAs to insertions. This was done in a single plasmid-encoded rRNA operon, complementing the Δ7rrn strain[2].
