The Inovirus genus belongs to the Inovirdae family of bacterial viruses, which all have circular single (+) stranded DNA genomes and helical symmetry. There are 42 phage in the FamilyInoviridae, which have been classified into 29 species. Their hosts include E. coli, Clostridium and Propionibacterium. They vary in length as well as rigidity, but do not have any lipid components.
