Comments (originally from EcoCyc[1]) Based on: 1) microarray analysis at the onset of the stationary phase in Escherichia coli grown in rich medium, 2) primer extension and 3) sequence analysis, three transcription initiation start site for artP were determined by [3][3]. However, the length of each transcription unit is not mentioned. Absolute positions +1 of the transcription start sites are: 903038 and 903039, corresponding to artPp1 which presented two transcription initiation start sites, 903059, corresponding to artPp2, and 903066 and 903067, corresponding to artPp3 which presented two transcription initiation start sites.
