Help:Gene resources
From EcoliWiki
About
If you know of or have a genetic resource for a particular gene, such as a plasmid or a strain containing a mutant allele of the gene, please enter it in the Genetic Resources table.
The first column is for naming the resource. The second column is the type of resource. The third column is for listing the source of the resource. The final column is for describing the resource.
Editing and Entering Information
Editing and Entering Information into the tables is relatively simple. Below, we walk you through adding new data or editing data already there.
You can choose to protect the data entered if you don't wish anyone else (except the EcoliWiki Team) to modify it. Use the pull-down menu to select either public or private.
After entering the information, click on the Save button at the bottom of the table.
Please note that data marked protected has been added by Wiki scripts and cannot be edited, such as the information in the row titled Protein in our example on the left. However, if you consider something to be wrong or needing to be changed, we encourage you to make your voice heard by editing the table or writing in the section marked Notes below the table.
Content that has been added by the community can be edited. In the image to the left, the second row entitled Protein can be edited. To do this, click on the Edit button at the end of the row that you wish to edit. You can choose to protect the data entered if you don't wish anyone else (except the EcoliWiki Team) to modify it. Use the pull-down menu to select either public or private.
After entering the information, click on the Save button at the table.
Whether you've entered data or edited data, it will need to be saved. In the above examples, the data has been saved so that the user can see an updated version of the table. To save the data to the actual Wiki page, click on the Save Table to Wiki Page button at the bottom of the updated table to save the table to the original page.
The EcoliWiki Team thanks you for your contribution!
