Using the search box

Start by entering a keyword in the search box in the sidebar to the left.

  • Click on the Go button (or hit Enter on the keyboard) to search for a page title that matches the keyword.
  • Click on the Search button to search for both page titles that contain the keyword and pages with text that matches the keyword.

Searches with the Go button

  • Enter a keyword and click on the Go button (or hit Enter on the keyboard). If there's a match you'll be redirected to the page whose title matches the keyword.
Example: If you enter the keyword rpoD and click on Go, you'll be redirected to the rpoD:Quickview page.
  • If there is no match, you'll be redirected to a page that tells you There is no page titled "keyword". Below this message will be Search Results with:
(i) a list of Article title matches, these are page titles that contain the keyword and
(ii) a list of Page text matches, which are pages containing text that matches the keyword.
Example: If you enter the keyword sigma70 and click on Go, you'll be redirected to the page like the one shown below:

  • Go is case sensitive

Searching using the Go button is case sensitive. For example, searching for rpod or RPOD will not find the rpoD pages.

Searches with the Search button

Example, if you enter the keyword rpoD and click on Search, the search engine will return a list of 8 Article title matches and a list of 13 pages with the text rpoD.

Using Category pages

One advantage of wikis is that it is easy to group related articles in the same Category (or Categories). A list of the categories that a page is assigned to can be found at the bottom of the page. To see all the pages in that category, type "Category:CategoryName" in the search box in the sidebar.

Example: To see all pages in the Help category, type "Category:Help" in the search box.

To add a category tag, put [[Category:"CategoryName"]] on the page. The wikimedia convention is to put the category tag(s) at the bottom of the page.
