sensory histidine kinase in two-component regulatory system with BasR
Histidine protein kinase sensor Lipid A modification genes; two-component system involved in polymyxin resistance that senses high extracellular Fe(2+)

BasR is the cognate response regulator of the BasSR two-component system. The BasSR regulon has been primarily characterized in Salmonella; unlike E. coli, Salmonella also activates PmrAB(BasSR) in low Mg(2+), mediated by PhoPQ and the PmrD protein.
