Notes
CobB is primarily characterized in Salmonella (Starai, 2002). CobB may be responsible for additional lysine deacetylations since it is the only sirtuin homolog; Pat may be the general protein acetylase. A large number of lysines are acetylated and deacetylated in E. coli; presumably many or all of them by Pat/CobB (Yu, 2008; Zhang, 2008).[4]
