Notes

pET-24(+) is a transcription vector. Novagen supplies the pET Vectors as purified plasmid DNA (10 µg). An Induction Control strain (supplied as a glycerol stock) is also included in each order of pET DNA. The sequence uses the pBR322 convention for numeration, note that the T7 expression region is reversed on the map.

History

It is designed for expression from bacterial translation signals that are within a cloned insert. Because of this, it lacks the ribosome binding site and ATG start codon present on pET translation vectors. Although, a C-terminal His•Tag sequence is available.
